WARN TROPHY ITALIA 2011
FOR THE 4th TIME TEAM OVER JOY, CIANI RENEGADE WHITE AND CIANI RENEGADE RED SHARED VICTORY AT THE STAGE OF WARN TROPHY ITALIA BETWEEN VARSI AND VALMOZZOLA FROM 15th TO 18th SEPTEMBER. AFTER THE GREAT SUCCESS OF THIS 4-DAY INTERNATIONAL, THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE IN BERCETO (PARMA) THE 22nd AND 23rd OCTOBER FOR THE PENULTIMATE LEG OF WTI
Varsi-Valmozzola (Parma) - Big international show for the 4th round of the Championship Warn Trophy Italia 2011 organized by DeadDogs of Riccardo Pisani, with Fiamma Fuoristrada, from 15th to 18th September in the province of Parma between Varsi and Valmozzola. At the start of this extreme off road challenge there were some of the best Italian and European 4x4 crews, including the Belgian Axel Burmann and Tom Olieslagers on Jeep Wrangler JK 3.8. More than eighty km of hard tracks - with technical passages and difficult channels between rock - have been set up by Pisani and DeadDogs staff for driver and co pilot for the race. A challenge like King of the Hammer with crews deployed in groups (depending on tire size) along the river for a great start in the first exciting day of competition of WTI, really selective even for more experienced drivers. In the category "extreme" great departure for Team Over Joy with Stefano Re, with co driver Filippo Zamponi for the first time in Warn Trophy, ever more competitive on his tubular Suzuki, first at the end of the leg. Some problems at the winch did not prevent to Ferdinando Bartolucci and Luca Chelini, with the Defender of Equipe Dream Team, to win the second place followed by Ivan Brandimarte, Axel Burmann and Doc Crawler. To win the pole position among the "Swamper" has been Ciani Renegade White with a time of 354 minutes and 20 seconds, before the crews Jimmy Ridimmi (427 and 50) and Acerni Tore (455 and 10) with SRM 4x4 and Protozoico to close the daily ranking. Bagarre also among "off road" between Team Ciani Renegade Red and the brothers Giuseppe and Giovanni Orzetti, either protagonists of the first portion of the race, until Orzetti conquered the podium in 204 minutes and 40 seconds ahead Paolo Ciani/ Luca Naticchioni (223 and 15), Off Road Garage (257 and 10), Savona Fuoristrada and Walkiria Nero. Among the stunts to be reported in Thursday's stage, the 360-degree reversal (fortunately without consequences for drivers and co-pilot) of Girolamo Rocca, racing with the colors of Team Acerni Racing. Two tours arranged on the second day of Varsi which began again on the banks of the river with fast passages between water and rocks and some problems for electrical strucutre of prototypes and 4x4. If Ciani White confirms the pole with only 1 minute ahead of Acerni Tore (followed by Protozoico, Jimmy Ridimmi and SRM 4x4) and Orzetti scores in front of Red Ciani (with Off Road Garage, Savona Fuoristrada, Walkiria Nero, Acerni Spider, Ciani TJ and Adventure Trocia to close the standings for the "off road") in the category of "extreme" Bartolucci / Chelini perform in one of their best performance all-wheel drive, winning the top step of the podium with 12-minute lead on Over Joy. Third place for the Belgian crew of Offroad Terror, which begin to become familiar with the race track showing not only great skill but also driving off-road performance, before an unfortunate but still fierce on tubular V8 Doc Crawler (with Iron as co driver) and Ivan Brandimarte with his new proto Acerni. After the first 5 special stages on Thursday and Friday, provisional podium sees Equipe Dream team in front of Over Joy with 6 minutes ahead, Ciani White ahead Acerni Tore (100 minutes) and Orzetti in front of Red Ciani (25 minutes). From Varsi Warn Trophy moves to Valmozzola where Saturday sees crews face off in 5 PS for the most technical leg of Warn Tropy. Some mechanical trouble for Over Joy, sailed for the last two days of competition by Moris Pulga, but ready to take back the leadership; winch out for Team Savona Fuoristrada (which goes very well with the race thanks to the winch of Team Ciani showing once again great sportsmanship); breaks to the rubber mounts for the struts of SRM 4x4 and ko for the compressor of the crew Luca Fontani and Simone Bedeschi of Team Protozoico. Very exciting
